On December 12, 2020, China’s 11th National Sports Robot and United Robots Elite Challenge was successfully held in Shanghai. The competition is guided by the “One Belt One Road Information Industry Development Alliance”, organized by the United Robots International Robot Competition Organizing Committee and the National Sports Robotics Competition Organizing Committee, and co-organized by Risen International Education.
At the opening ceremony, relevant education leaders and STEAM experts from the United States, Canada, Russia, Ukraine and other countries used videos to cheer on the contestants and wish the contest a smooth run. Dmitry Ustinsky, a representative of the Russian Brain Development and Robotics Track Company, said in the video: I hope that in future competitions and technical exchanges, young people from China and Russia will have more and more opportunities to learn together, make progress and grow together, and jointly create a more cohesive and intelligent, beautiful world! At the same time, Volodymyr Nochvay, head of the Data Research and Innovation Laboratory of the Kyiv Academic University, said that all students participating in the competition are welcome to study and do scientific research at Kyiv Academic University. Sergey Dziuba, the head of the STEM training center “Sokrat”, and his students expressed their congratulations on this competition in the video and said that we will have more cooperation in robotics in the future and everyone is welcome to visit Ukraine.
The competition set up 11 competition projects, including: Lego type large particle construction, Lego type mechanical construction, Lego WEDO, Lego EV3, scratch, C, C++, Python language, EV3 programming and humanoid robots, etc. These are current international and domestic popular and universal programming education and languages. The objectives of the competition range from simple color matching, structure construction, creativity, to complex mechanical design, motor and various sensor application and programming machinery, real-time strategies, and on-site calculations. Among them, the bipedal humanoid is involved in multi-disciplinary applications, covering various algorithms such as robot control, sensor technology, wireless communication technology, motion planning, and bipedal gait. This is also the focus and difficulty encountered in current scientific research. These competitions not only test the athletes’ innovative consciousness and intelligent robot movement level, but also reflect various comprehensive abilities. Exploration and learning ability, thinking and problem-solving ability, creative innovation ability, scientific practice ability, communication and cooperation ability, and logical space ability have all greatly improved. May every young person become a promoter of world change. This competition attracted Ukrainian contestants, as well as more than 200 teams and 1,000 outstanding athletes from Shanghai, Tianjin and other cities across the country.
