V.I. Vernadsky Taurida National University (TNU for short) is a formal Ukrainian national university announced by the Educational Foreign Regulatory Information Network of the Ministry of Education of China. TNU was founded in Simferopol in 1918 and moved to the capital, Kyiv, in 2016. The university is named after the world-famous geologist, founder of biogeochemistry and radiogeology, Vladimir Vernadsky, and has two Nobel Prize winners in physics. TNU is one of the top ten national universities in Ukraine.
TNU is composed of 16 departments, including 20 academic institutions and 41 student training majors. Among the 2,244 faculty and staff, there are 112 doctors of science and professors, and 485 associate doctors of science, associate professors, senior teachers and assistants. As a prestigious Ukrainian university, TNU has 15,000 students and has taught international students from more than 30 countries and regions including Russia, Belarus, India, China, and the European Union. It provides Ukrainian, Russian or English teaching. After graduating, students can obtain bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in the fields of medicine, engineering, biology, economics, sports, and humanities. TNU is a leader in many fields, but especially in administrative management, environmental engineering, electronic engineering, network security, etc.
TNU is the only Ukrainian member of the University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR). It is a Ukrainian university accredited by the British Authority (Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges, and Universities, ASIC) and the American Higher Education Organization (CHEA International Quality Group, CIQG). It is also a registered member of the International Association of Universities (IAU).
