Ukraine’s Kyiv National Technical University "Kyiv Polytechnic" (formerly known as Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", KPI for short), is a formal Ukrainian national university announced by the Ministry of Education of China on Foreign-related Supervision Information. KPI was founded in 1898. 122 years since the establishment of the Institute, KPI has cultivated more than 350,000 high-level technical and scientific research personnel and experts, including Dmitri Mendeleev, the inventor of the Periodic Table of Elements with the title of “Father of modern chemistry,” Igor Sikorsky -- the “Father of modern helicopters,” Sergey Korolev -- “Father of the satellite,” the director of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Boris Paton -- “King of welding technology,” and other world-renown scientists.
In the “Top-200 Ukraine 2020” of the Ministry of Education and Technology of Ukraine, KPI ranks first in the overall ranking. KPI currently has more than 20 members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, more than 500 professors, and more than 1,300 associate professors. It has established cooperative relations with more than 100 universities in more than 30 countries and regions. KPI maintains close cooperation with more than 30 academic and scientific research institutions in China, and has trained a large number of professional talents for China's aerospace, information network, physics research, and engineering technology. In 2018, the school Mykhailo Zgurovsky was awarded the Medal of Friendship by China.
